Simply enough

Simple…. this is a word that arrives in my mind daily. What does that word mean to me? I can find all kinds of suggestions of what it means to others but how does simple fit into my life, to satisfy me? I know that simple and enough usually arrive in my thoughts at the same time. Enough arrives when I consider what’s on my calendar, when I consider what’s in my closet, and when I consider if my retirement plan is solid enough to support my needs even when I am 85.

For today, following a big storm with high winds here in Kansas, as I sit in my kitchen without electricity waiting for the power to turn back on, simple means a generator for my fridge and freezer and an extension cord to the coffee pot for a morning coffee. I am thankful for a husband who plans for these moments. Today I am simply thankful for that.
